Help shape internal communications strategies across NFU Mutual.
Build effective partnerships with key senior stakeholders.
Hybrid: 80% homeworking available and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon, or one of our Regional Offices.
About the role:
At NFU Mutual, we believe that clear, engaging communication is at the heart of every successful organisation. We're looking for a skilled Internal Communications Business Partner to join our dynamic team on a 9 month, fixed term contract basis and play a key role in supporting the delivery of our business objectives through strategic, impactful communication.
As an Internal Communications Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leadership and middle management to provide strategic counsel, guidance, and support on internal communications for key business areas and change projects. In addition, you will work closely with, and line manage one Internal Communications Officer who you will work with very closely to support your dedicated business area.
You’ll coach and challenge senior stakeholders to improve the storytelling and content creation across the organisation, acting as the go-to subject matter expert for internal communications. Leading the planning, guidance, and delivery of communications strategies that support key business objectives, ensuring that all messaging follows internal best practices and aligns with the company’s values.
You’ll oversee the creation and delivery of internal communications materials, working with both internal teams and third-party suppliers, ensuring content is impactful, on-brand, and meets high standards. You’ll write compelling content on complex topics, such as redundancies and significant business issues, to maximise engagement and clarity and create opportunities for open communication and feedback, ensuring that internal audiences are well-informed and motivated. You’ll stay ahead of emerging communication trends and issues to proactively address regional, departmental, and programme needs and support managers in ensuring the right messages reach the right people at the right time.
About you:
You are a seasoned and versatile internal communications professional who has experience of working within a customer-focused environment, with a proven ability to design and implement change communication strategies that support business transformation. You are comfortable managing relationships with senior business stakeholders and your written and verbal communication skills are second to none. Whether it’s crafting compelling content for diverse audiences or advising senior leaders on best practices, you know how to shape messages that resonate and drive engagement. You have experience across a range of communication channels—from intranet and enterprise social media to traditional communication methods—and understand how to tailor your approach for each one to maximise impact. Line management experience is desirable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
