Why we need this role
As we align our organisation to our ambitious new strategy, helping employees understand what’s happening and why it matters has never been more important. The Internal Communications team sit at the heart of the business, and the Internal Communications Business Partners provide vital expertise, supporting the business functions and executive leaders - ensuring our communications are truly driving understanding, engagement and action.
You will shape how strategy is translated into a clear, compelling employee narrative, partnering leaders early to influence how change is framed and delivered.
What you will do
We’re looking for a savvy Internal Comms Business Partner who is proactive, engaged and passionate about all things comms – with a journalistic instinct for a story and an innate ability to produce compelling, contemporary content and expertise at managing digital channels.
We’re a fast-moving team with loads of opportunity; you will have autonomy over your own projects and make real time decisions that have significant impact on the employee experience.
- Business partner to our two sales functions and executive leaders, to support their role in delivering the Colt strategy and engaging employees. This role will also partner with sales support teams of Sales Enablement & Transformation and Marketing
- Play a leading role driving and supporting the change and transformation agenda. We need help to tell our people what’s coming, explain what’s changing and bring our people on the journey
- Develop and execute a content plan that adds value and deepens colleagues’ understanding of our purpose and our strategic priorities
- Embed Colt’s values and behaviours into all your activities across the business to drive positive cultural change and to gain maximum buy in and employee engagement
- Work with the Senior IC and change comms manager and the wider internal communications team to support their campaigns and projects as required
- Take the lead on Colt-wide projects and campaigns
- Ensure a consistent approach across all content created – championing Colt’s core messages, brand guidelines and tone of voice
- Balance the strategic and the tactical, this is a hands-on role
- Measure and report on the results of your comms and campaigns

What we're looking for
Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with the agility to manage multiple priorities and deliver at pace in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting clear, impactful messaging.
- Experience partnering with executive leaders, functions and transformation programmes to deliver effective internal communications.
- 8+ years' experience in internal communications within complex organisations.
- Strong background in change and transformation communications, supporting business objectives and employee engagement.
- Skilled at translating complex, technical or business-critical topics into compelling and accessible communications.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to identify stories, generate content opportunities and drive engagement.
- Highly organised, with excellent planning, project management and execution capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality across all communications.
- Experience managing and optimising internal communication channels, including Poppulo, SharePoint, Viva Engage, Teams and Zoom.
- Comfortable operating within a global, matrixed environment, collaborating across functions, geographies and cultures.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages would be an advantage.
