Role Overview
The Internal Communications Lead is a pivotal strategic role responsible for shaping and delivering Brooks Macdonald's internal communications agenda. Acting as a trusted adviser to the Executive Committee and senior leadership team, the role ensures colleagues understand the firm's strategy, priorities, performance, culture and organisational direction.
This position is focused on developing and executing communication strategies that support business objectives, organisational change, employee understanding and engagement. The role plays a critical part in helping leaders communicate effectively through periods of transformation, growth and business change, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent and aligned across the organisation.
Whilst the role oversees the planning and delivery of internal communications campaigns and content, it is fundamentally a strategic communications position rather than a content creation role. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time partnering with senior stakeholders, shaping communication approaches, advising leaders and driving communication outcomes that support organisational success.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
