We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic physician to join our General Internal Medicine team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) in Cranbrook, BC.
As part of our close-knit group of six experienced general internists, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues who share a commitment to providing the highest quality, patient-centered care. In this Role, You Will:
- Engage in a broad range of clinical responsibilities.
- Perform various procedures, including intubation, central lines, chest tubes, pigtails, temporary pacemakers, lumbar punctures, arthrocentesis, paracentesis, and more.
- Manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide critical care in the ICU, which has a 6-bed closed unit run by the internists.
Outpatient Care at EKRH Includes:
- Rapid access TIA clinic.
- Chronic pulmonary disease clinic.
- Diabetes clinic.
- CHF clinic with home monitoring.
- Conducting cardiac stress tests, managing MIBIs, stress echoes, Holter monitors, and event monitors, among other services.
Call Duties:
- Shared evenly among team members.
- Involve both internal medicine consults and ICU coverage, ensuring a balanced workload.

Compensation
- Compensation Type: Fee-for-Service
- Estimated Remuneration: $500,000 – $600,000, plus MOCAP level 1 Physician Overhead TBD
Benefits and Incentives
- May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
- Retention Premium: 14.00%
- Retention Flat Fee: $21,696
- Relocation Funding Available: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location.
- Recruitment Incentive: $20,000
- Other Benefits/Incentives:
- RCME: Up to 2 years $1,800; In 3rd & 4th year $4,800; after 4 years $7,800
