Primary Responsibility
To handle goods and products through receiving, storing, loading and delivery whilst providing outstanding customer service and ensuring timely, safe and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times. Represent the Company professionally and provide excellent customer service with a warm, helpful and positive attitude. Ensure goods are handled, stored, loaded and delivered in accordance with company procedures, manual handling practices and Health & Safety requirements.
List areas of daily and long-term responsibilities
- Receive goods from suppliers, checking accuracy against delivery notes prior to unloading and ensuring all damaged or missing goods are reported immediately.
- Store goods safely in the correct warehouse locations.
- Prepare online and counter orders accurately for collection and dispatch according to invoices and picking lists.
- Receive and store returned items from customers, completing and issuing accurate documentation as required.
- Check stock for damage, loss or short-dated items and report issues as required.
- Load goods accurately and safely onto vehicles for dispatch.
- Deliver goods politely and professionally to customer delivery points in accordance with company procedures and manual handling training.
- Assist with delivery of items to customers, taking instruction as necessary to provide a safe and professional service.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow planned route sequences and delivery schedules.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and security of assigned vehicles and working areas.
- Ensure assigned vehicles and work equipment are operated safely and maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Collect and bank customer payments in accordance with company procedures, ensuring money is secure at all times.
- Ensure invoices and all relevant documents are completed accurately and signed by customers where required.
- Identify and report counterfeit money in accordance with company procedures.
- Keep company mobile devices charged, operational and available during working hours.
- Wear the correct company uniform and personal protective equipment, including safety boots and high visibility clothing where required.
- Organise and work effectively with delivery helpers where assigned.
- Coordinate and prepare for stock-taking processes.
- Conduct cycle counts and resolve discrepancies and queries in a timely manner.
- Ensure working areas are clean, tidy and safe at all times.
- Respond to customers in a polite, professional and customer-focused manner.
- Provide feedback to enhance product performance and service delivery.
- Seek to improve relations and communications to facilitate efficient service delivery and issue management.
- Report all accidents, incidents, hazards and injuries immediately in accordance with company procedures.
- Obey all traffic laws, regulations and company driving standards.
- Ensure safe operation of company equipment in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- To ensure that the company internal/external customer care and equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
- To be responsible for and ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

4 GCSE’s A-C including English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications
Relevant work experience will be considered
Physical Requirements
Lifting: The job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using the equipment provided where necessary.
Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.
Equipment: you will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.
