Primary Responsibility
Maintain excellent customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safeguarding company assets.

List Areas Of Daily And Long-term Responsibilities

  • Count collected monies and ensure correct billing and procurement of payment for products.
  • Count and process collected money from driver’s routes and store in a safe manner.
  • Maintain record of daily opening and closing balance.
  • Input transaction entries into the system.
  • Report discrepancies immediately.
  • Identify counterfeit money.
  • Interact with customers and input orders to the system for collection.
  • Identify sales opportunities and effectively present key features and benefits of products to increase levels of business activity.
  • Credit accounts if shortage of physical stock to invoiced items.
  • Adhere to company billing/registration processes.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on the characteristics, strengths, and general information on all products.
  • Understand the market in which the company operates and how the organization’s products and services are used within the market.
  • Develop knowledge of demand, competition, and prices.
  • Receive goods from suppliers, checking accuracy against delivery notes prior to unloading, ensuring all damaged and missing goods are reported immediately.
  • Ensure online and counter orders placed are prepared accurately for collection according to invoice and picking lists.
  • Receive and store returned items from customers, completing and issuing accurate documentation as required.
  • Store items safely in the correct location.
  • Check stock for damage, loss or short-dated items, reporting as required.
  • Load goods accurately and safely to vehicles for dispatch.
  • Coordinate and prepare for stock-taking processes.
  • Conduct cyclical counts and resolve discrepancies and queries in a timely manner.
  • Assist with delivery of items to customers, taking instruction as necessary to provide safe service of goods to customers.
  • Ensure safe operation of company equipment in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear correct personal protective equipment, including high-visibility jacket and safety boots, at all times.
  • Ensure working areas are clean, tidy and safe to operate within.
  • Respond to and deal with customers in a polite and professional manner.
  • Provide feedback to enhance product performance and service delivery.
  • Seek to improve relations regarding the provision of efficient communications to facilitate product development and issue management.
  • Ensure that company internal/external customer care and equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected of the role and as necessary to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

4 GCSE’s A-C including English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications Relevant work experience will be considered

Physical Requirements

Lifting: The job may involve lifting of papers box (13 kg), computers (6 kg), archive folders, and archive boxes (16 kg), personal belongings boxes . The job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using the equipment provided where necessary.

Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.

Equipment: Sack barrow (trolley), use of step ladder to access folders from shelves. You will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.

Skills

  • Excellent sales, organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Clear precise and professional manner during face to face and telephone interactions
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service orientation
