Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)

Role: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 4 IQA Qualification AND Level 3 Assessor/CAVA Qualification

Role Purpose

To ensure assessment decisions and practices meet awarding organisation requirements and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct IQA sampling of learner assessments and portfolios.
  • Monitor assessment decisions for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Observe and support assessors, providing clear feedback.
  • Conduct assessor standardisation activities.
  • Maintain accurate IQA records and audit trails.
  • Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support preparation for EQA visits and awarding organisation audits.
  • Ensure compliance with assessment, RPL, reasonable adjustments, malpractice, and appeals procedures.
  • Undertake assessment activities where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification – mandatory.
  • Level 3 Assessor or CAVA qualification – mandatory.
  • Experience in assessment and internal quality assurance.
  • Good understanding of awarding organisation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
