Internal Recruitment Consultant
Nottingham / Derby | Hybrid Working | Up to £30,000 DOE
High energy. Fast growth. Plenty happening.
Purpose of the Role
We’re looking for a talented Recruitment Consultant / Internal Recruiter to join the in-house recruitment team of a rapidly growing UK business with a strong brand, big ambitions and an environment where pace, ideas and personality are genuinely valued.
The business moves quickly. There’s lots going on, priorities evolve and growth creates a constant need to find great people. We need someone who enjoys that energy – someone proactive, organised and comfortable picking up the phone, approaching candidates, trying new ideas and making things happen.
If you thrive on activity, creativity and seeing results, you'll fit in well.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of recruitment across different areas of the business, working directly with hiring managers to understand what they need and then going into the market to find it.
That will include:
- Running recruitment assignments from initial brief through to successful hire.
- Building strong relationships with hiring managers and becoming a trusted recruitment partner.
- Proactively searching, headhunting and engaging candidates rather than waiting for applications.
- Market mapping relevant businesses and talent pools.
- Using LinkedIn Recruiter, CV databases, job boards, referrals and your own creativity to uncover great people.
- Screening and interviewing candidates and producing targeted shortlists.
- Creating engaging adverts and finding new ways to get opportunities in front of the right people.
- Building talent pipelines ahead of future growth.
- Keeping recruitment moving with regular communication, feedback and follow-up.
- Giving managers clear visibility of progress, activity and what's happening in the market.
- Managing interviews, offers and candidate engagement through to successful start.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
You might currently be working in agency recruitment and want to take your skills in-house, or already be working within an internal talent team and want somewhere with more pace and opportunity.
Either way, we're looking for someone who naturally has energy and drive. Someone who would rather pick up the phone and find the person than wait for another CV to arrive.

- Loves the search, sourcing and people side of recruitment.
- Is confident engaging passive candidates.
- Brings ideas rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Builds relationships quickly.
- Is comfortable speaking with managers at all levels.
- Takes ownership and follows things through.
- Can balance high activity with quality.
- Enjoys working as part of a lively, ambitious team.
- Wants to keep learning and developing.
