Role Description
The Internal Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Nottingham branch. The role involves handling inbound sales enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders, and proactively following up with customers to secure and grow business. The Internal Sales team member will build and maintain strong customer relationships, provide product information and technical support where appropriate, and coordinate with external sales, purchasing, and logistics to ensure timely deliveries. The role also includes supporting new team members through knowledge sharing and promoting SBS’s service standards and brand values.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with customers and colleagues.
- Proven Customer Service experience, with a focus on building relationships and resolving issues effectively.
- Demonstrated Sales ability, including converting enquiries to orders and identifying upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
- Experience or exposure to Sales Management or Training activities, such as supporting team performance or sharing best practices.
- Good numerical and IT skills, including use of CRM systems, order processing software, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical services products is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a branch environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in an internal sales or trade counter role within a merchant or distribution setting is beneficial.
