Company Description
Fox Electrical Supplies is a trusted electrical wholesaler with branches in Lincoln, Sleaford, and Scunthorpe, serving customers across the Greater Lincoln area and beyond. The company supplies a wide range of electrical products, including cable, lighting, distribution equipment, switchgear, and installation essentials to trade professionals.
THE ROLE
As a Trade Counter Sales / Internal Sales team member, you will be the main point of contact for customers, quotations and processing orders both face-to-face and over the phone. You will play a key role in developing profitable business relationships, supporting branch sales targets, and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner at the trade counter and by phone.
- Handle customer enquiries, process orders, and provide quotations promptly and accurately.
- Advise customers on product selection, availability, and pricing, using your knowledge of electrical products and manufacturers.
- Inform customers about special offers, promotions, and loyalty programmes.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers to optimise sales, service, satisfaction, and loyalty.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate special terms for large or one-off orders.
- Work with colleagues to develop project tenders and submittals.

STOCK & STORE OPERATIONS
- Assist with stock management, including restocking shelves, checking deliveries and conducting stock checks.
- Ensure the trade counter and work area are clean, tidy, and well-presented with up-to-date promotional materials.
- Ensure the approach and entrance to the branch, including car park, is clean, tidy, free from litter and as welcoming as possible.
- Apply merchandising and point of sale techniques to maximise customer sales. Support the warehouse and stores team as required.
ADMINISTRATION & COMPLIANCE
- Accurately process sales transactions and maintain up-to-date records.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety and industry regulations.
TEAM COLLABORATION
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet branch and company targets.
- Support supervisors and managers with branch operations.
- Assist with training new staff members when required.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with computerised sales/order systems.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of basic business finance.
- Previous sales experience, preferably within an electrical wholesale or trade environment.
- Knowledge of electrical products essential.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Driving licence is required for occasional customer visits or branch errands.
- May occasionally be required to work outside normal business hours to meet customer needs.
BENEFITS
We offer a competitive benefits package, including profit-related bonus scheme, long service awards, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and an additional days leave to celebrate your birthday.
WORKING HOURS
- Monday to Thursday - 7:30am - 4:45pm.
- Friday - 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
