Internal Sales & Account Manager
Location: Sittingbourne / Maidstone
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Depending on experience + Quarterly Bonus
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time – Monday to Friday – 8am – 5pm
Are you a proactive salesperson who loves building relationships and spotting opportunities? We're looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Internal Sales & Account Manager to join a growing and successful business based in Sittingbourne.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining account management, sales, customer relationships, and business development. Whether you come from a sales background or have experience managing customer accounts, this position offers the chance to become part of a supportive team within a thriving organisation that continues to experience healthy organic growth.
Working for a leading distributor of materials and equipment across the UK, you'll play a key role in supporting customers, developing existing accounts, generating new opportunities, and delivering exceptional service every step of the way.
The Role
As an Internal Sales & Account Manager, you'll be the first point of contact for customers whilst actively looking for opportunities to generate new business and maximise existing accounts.
This is a relationship-driven position where you'll proactively engage with customers, follow up quotations, reconnect with lapsed accounts, identify future opportunities, and ensure customers receive a consistently high standard of service.
You'll enjoy speaking with customers, building rapport, understanding their requirements, and helping them find the right solutions whilst contributing to the overall growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via telephone, email, and online channels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers
- Proactively follow up quotations to secure orders and maximise conversion opportunities
- Regularly contact existing, dormant, and lapsed accounts to identify opportunities and generate sales
- Engage with customers following previous enquiries and quotations as part of an exceptional customer service experience
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing accounts
- Generate leads through proactive outbound customer contact and account development activities
- Promote products, special offers, and new product lines to customers
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the product range
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system
- Liaise with warehouse, logistics, purchasing, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Work closely with external sales representatives to support account growth strategies
- Meet or exceed sales, revenue, and performance targets
- Deliver outstanding customer service at every stage of the customer journey
Requirements
- Previous experience within a Sales, Internal Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Customer Success, or similar customer-focused role
- Experience building and maintaining customer relationships
- A confident communicator with excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, positive, and commercially minded approach
- Comfortable speaking with customers and identifying sales opportunities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively
- Self-motivated with the drive to achieve targets and deliver results
