Internal Sales Representative

At Heidelberg Materials, we're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong customer relationships, and has a passion for delivering outstanding service while driving commercial success.
As an Internal Sales Representative, you'll manage a portfolio of customers within a defined geographical area, identifying opportunities to grow our business through proactive sales activity, customer engagement, and effective account management. Working closely with external sales colleagues and operational teams, you'll play a key role in helping our customers succeed while contributing to the performance of the business.

- Managing an assigned portfolio of customers and building strong, long-term relationships.
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities through proactive outbound sales activity.
- Developing meaningful relationships with key decision-makers and understanding customer needs.
- Creating and managing customer contact plans to maximise sales opportunities.
- Pricing products and services in line with agreed commercial guidelines.
- Supporting market analysis and identifying opportunities for growth and increased market share.
Delivering an Outstanding Customer Experience
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for customer enquiries via phone and email.
- Producing accurate and timely quotations that meet customer requirements.
- Resolving customer issues and complaints professionally, ensuring positive outcomes whenever possible.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and service delivery.
- Taking ownership of customer communications and maintaining regular contact throughout the sales process.
Supporting Sales and Order Administration
- Managing sales administration activities accurately and efficiently.
- Processing payments for cash sales transactions.
- Maintaining accurate customer information and records within company systems.
- Supporting colleagues across the wider Customer Service Centre when required.
- Developing knowledge across the team to provide flexibility and support business continuity.
Order Management Support
- Assisting with order placement and amendments when required.
- Processing customer orders accurately within SAP and associated systems.
- Liaising with operational and transport teams to provide realistic delivery solutions.
- Ensuring customers receive clear and timely updates regarding their orders.

What We're Looking For
You'll be an excellent communicator with strong commercial awareness and a customer-first mindset. You enjoy building relationships, identifying opportunities, and working collaboratively to achieve results.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, account management, or a commercial support role.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Confidence making outbound calls and generating new business opportunities.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer care.
- Good IT skills, with experience using business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience within the construction materials, manufacturing, distribution, or related industries would be beneficial, although not essential.
