Sterling ITI Ltd is an established UK manufacturer and supplier of temperature sensors, pressure measurement equipment and industrial process instrumentation, with a proud heritage and many decades of combined industry experience.
Bringing together the expertise and established reputations of Sterling Sensors, Instruments to Industry (ITI) and Sella-Askus, we have built a business recognised for technical knowledge, product quality and outstanding customer service.
Our extensive product range includes Thermocouple and RTD Temperature Sensors, Pressure Gauges and Transducers, Temperature Controllers and Process Instrumentation. Alongside our core product offering, we provide precision CNC machining services and operate our own in-house calibration laboratory, enabling us to offer customers a broader range of technical and engineering solutions.
We supply a diverse range of industries throughout the UK and internationally.

The Role
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Internal Technical Sales Engineer to join our established team.
As part of a small, experienced and closely connected team, you will enjoy a varied and hands-on role that goes beyond traditional internal sales. You will have the opportunity to become involved in different areas of the business, work closely with colleagues across sales, manufacturing and operations, and contribute ideas that help shape how we work and grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing and developing existing customer accounts, building strong and lasting relationships.
- Providing technical advice, product selection and application support to customers.
- Identifying and developing new sales opportunities across our product range.
- Preparing quotations, responding promptly to enquiries and following up opportunities to secure orders.
- Working closely with our manufacturing and technical teams to provide customers with effective solutions.
- Contributing ideas and improvements to our products, processes and customer service.
- Maintaining the high standards of responsiveness and technical support for which Sterling ITI is known.
Full in-house training will be provided, supported by our experienced technical and manufacturing teams.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be reliable, conscientious and self-motivated, with a strong customer focus and a proactive approach to sales.
Ideally, applicants will have at least two years’ experience in technical sales, specification or supply of one or more of the following:

- Thermocouple and RTD Temperature Sensors

- Temperature Controllers and Process Instrumentation
- Industrial Measurement and Control Equipment
The successful candidate should also demonstrate:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A methodical and accurate approach to their work.
- The ability to understand technical requirements and recommend suitable products.
- Confidence in communicating with customers and developing business relationships.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently in a busy sales environment.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn, share ideas and get involved in different aspects of the business.
