Business Overview
The Internal Sales Executive role is a key role within Switch2 which brings together marketing and sales, ensuring the departments work closely together and communicate to deliver new business leads and sales.
Core Responsibilities
Leads/Opportunities
- Qualify leads generated from marketing activities
- Manage HubSpot leads and qualify
- Work with the marketing team to develop and implement a targeted sales and marketing strategy
- Identify opportunities using digital marketing tools such as Media, Barbour ABI, Lead Forensics, and HubSpot
- Build up relationships and rapport with potential clients and existing
- Ensure qualified leads are recorded on the CRM system
- Manage the sales inbox, delegating enquiries
CRM & Data Management
- Manage CRM, reporting, campaigns, cleansing, updating where required
- Manage workbooks pipeline with up-to-date CRM intel with the objective to support the team to close more deals in a shorter time frame.
Business Development Support
- Manage the BDM document folder containing marketing material
- Receive inbound calls and deal with/pass on appropriately
- Support the BDM team collaborating with internal teams, such as marketing, projects, heat network operations team, and operations, which is essential to align business strategies and achieve company goals efficiently.

Event Coordination
- Support the marketing and sales team with planning events, inviting attendees, and follow-ups
- Support the marketing and sales team at events, building brand awareness and potential leads to the business
Sales
- Managing own pipeline with additional revenue and contribution targets
- Identifying, re-assigning, and giving more focus to lower stage pipeline opportunities currently assigned to BDMs, improving conversion rates
The above will be achieved by:
- Streamlining and cleansing previous contacts and databases, following up on warm leads, and analysing conversion rates.
- Carrying out outbound calls to prospective leads on domestic sales to qualify as an opportunity and pass on to a BDM to close out.
- Quote preparation to support the BDMs including follow-up and identifying orders won and lost.
- Maintaining/owning the customer database on the CRM system to ensure contact details are up-to-date
- Good excel skills required to generate reports for pipeline value and analysis of activities
Main Accountabilities/Key Result Areas
- Volume outbound calls to warm leads and prospective customers to chase up quotations – identify the correct data working with the BDM
- Following up warm marketing leads from the website, events, campaigns, and online activity by way of outbound telemarketing and emails working in collaboration with Marketing
- Streamline and cleansing of CRM database portfolio
- Analysing conversion rates past and present – producing a dashboard/reporting suite
- Produce new and copy quotations where required
- Providing sales support to clients surrounding S2 services and products
- Supporting field-based BDMs with sales and marketing information on a project by project basis
- Monitor the marketing inbox

Relationship Development
- Identify the key decision makers and influencers within accounts, working with the BDM develop a contact programme that is designed to assist achievement of S2 business objectives
- Key interface between sales and marketing teams – develop relationships to ensure knowledge sharing
- Maintain accurate records in respect of the account relationship
- Ensure appropriate levels of sales support service is offered to BDMs and clients
This role provides succession planning as it’s an excellent opportunity to develop industry and Switch2 operations knowledge and develop sales and business development skills to transition to a BDM.
