Internal Sales Executive

North Ferriby (HU14)

Full-Time | Permanent

About Us

They are a well-established and growing B2B supplier of filtration and engineering components, supporting customers across agricultural, construction, transport, automotive, and industrial sectors.

An independent business known for technical knowledge, reliability, responsiveness, and long-standing customer relationships.

The Role

We're looking for a commercially minded Internal Sales Executive to join their North Ferriby team. This is an office-based internal sales and account-development role, not a remote position and not principally a customer-service or order-processing job.

You'll take ownership of sales enquiries, prepare and follow up quotations, develop existing accounts, and identify wider opportunities from customers, website enquiries, and prospects. They want somebody comfortable picking up the telephone, asking good questions, and progressing an enquiry into a sale.

You'll work alongside our customer service team and provide order or customer support when required, but the principal focus is commercial: developing relationships, progressing opportunities, and generating profitable sales.

The role is initially office-based, with opportunities to visit customers and suppliers or attend industry events. For the right person, there is scope to develop into broader account management and external sales responsibility.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Handling incoming sales enquiries and taking ownership through to conclusion
  • Preparing quotations, proactively following them up, and converting enquiries into orders
  • Developing existing accounts and building relationships with purchasing, engineering, and maintenance contacts
  • Following up website enquiries, new accounts, dormant customers, and targeted prospects
  • Making proactive outbound calls and identifying wider product or filtration opportunities
  • Asking the right questions to understand customers' equipment, applications, and requirements
  • Supporting product identification and working with suppliers on pricing, availability, and technical information
  • Maintaining accurate opportunities, follow-ups, and customer information within our CRM
  • Supporting order processing and the wider customer service team when required
  • Occasionally visiting customers, suppliers, and industry events

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for somebody with genuine commercial instinct and identifiable sales ability. You don't need to be an aggressive salesperson; we want somebody confident, inquisitive, commercially aware, and comfortable developing business through good customer relationships.

You should be able to demonstrate that you:

  • Are confident speaking with B2B customers and taking ownership of opportunities
  • Naturally follow up quotations and enquiries and are comfortable asking for the order
  • Look beyond the immediate enquiry to identify wider opportunities
  • Ask questions and take a genuine interest in a customer's business and applications
  • Can develop long-term commercial relationships and manage multiple follow-ups
  • Take responsibility for your own activity and results
  • Are willing to learn a technical product range and occasionally meet customers or suppliers
  • Can work collaboratively and provide customer-service support when the business requires it

Experience

Previous experience in internal sales, account development, parts sales, trade sales, or technical B2B sales would be highly desirable.

Relevant backgrounds include automotive or commercial vehicle parts, plant or agricultural machinery, engineering components, hydraulics, industrial supplies/MRO, filtration, or other technical B2B distribution.

Direct filtration experience is not essential; we can teach the products and provide technical support. Candidates from other sectors will be considered where they can demonstrate clear commercial ability and sales aptitude. Pure retail or customer-service experience on its own is unlikely to provide the background we are looking for.

The Person

The right person will hear “Can you quote me for this filter?” and instinctively want to know: What is it fitted to? How many machines do you operate? What else do you buy? How often do you service it?

That's the commercial curiosity we're looking for. At the same time, this is relationship-led technical sales, so credibility, responsiveness, and doing what you say you'll do are every bit as important as winning the immediate order.

What You'll Get

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • 28 days' holiday including bank holidays, with additional holiday after two years' service
  • Company medical insurance
  • Full product and systems training and support from an experienced technical and commercial team
  • Genuine responsibility for developing customer opportunities
  • Scope to develop your technical knowledge, commercial skills, and role as the business grows

Salary

£28,000–£30,000 basic salary, depending on experience, plus a modest performance-related bonus.

We may consider a higher package for an exceptional candidate with directly relevant automotive, engineering, parts, filtration, or technical sales experience.

The employer fully supports Equality in Employment. All employment is decided based on qualifications, merit, and business need.
