The Opportunity

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Internal Salesperson to join our team.

This is a fast paced, customer focused role where you'll manage and develop customer accounts, respond to enquiries, prepare quotations and identify opportunities to grow sales. Working closely with both customers and colleagues across the business, you'll play a key role in delivering an excellent customer experience while driving profitable growth.

You'll become a trusted point of contact for your customers, building long term relationships, understanding their requirements and providing the right products and solutions to meet their needs. You'll also work closely with our External Sales team, supporting account development and helping to win new business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a busy commercial environment and wants to develop a successful long-term career.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is an office based role, working from our Leeds office (LS10 1SD).

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing customer accounts
  • Responding to customer enquiries and preparing accurate, competitive quotations
  • Building strong customer relationships through regular telephone and email contact
  • Identifying opportunities to grow customer spend and increase account profitability
  • Proactively following up quotations and converting opportunities into sales
  • Working closely with External Sales colleagues to support customer growth and new business opportunities
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and providing the right solutions for customer requirements
  • Developing account plans to maximise sales opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and sales activity within CRM systems
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
  • Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally and efficiently
  • Supporting effective account management, including credit control activities where required
  • Achieving agreed sales, margin and customer growth targets

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people with the drive, resilience and commercial instinct to succeed in sales.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in internal sales, customer service, account management or sales support
  • Experience within the metals, industrial, manufacturing or distribution sectors (preferred but not essential)
  • A proven ability to build strong customer relationships and identify sales opportunities
  • Strong commercial awareness and a target-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Confidence working with figures, margins and commercial data
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A stable employment history demonstrating commitment and reliability
