Internal Sales Manager
The Internal Sales Manager plays a critical leadership role within Fleet Mortgages, ensuring the effective performance and continuous development of the Internal Sales function. The role leads the Internal Sales Team, driving high-quality service, operational excellence, and strong commercial outcomes aligned to Fleet’s growth strategy. Acting as a key representative of the CCO, the Internal Sales Manager contributes to strategic planning, organisational initiatives, and supports Fleet’s reputation as a leading specialist buy-to-let lender.
This is a fixed-term contract position to cover maternity leave, therefore the successful candidate will be required for a minimum of 12 months cover, ideally from September onwards, to ensure a sufficient hand over period.
We are happy to consider candidates who are looking to work 4 full days per week.
Key Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within sales or financial services.
- Demonstratable experience in people management including coaching and mentoring skills.
- Strong knowledge of UK mortgage market; BTL/specialist lending experience advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to high performance.
- Solution-focused mindset and highly organised.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- CeMAP qualified or studying towards.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and line management for Internal Sales Team with varying levels of experience, including coaching and development.
- Represent Sales at internal/external meetings, projects, and strategic forums.
- Support ad-hoc project work and other organisational initiatives as required.
- Oversee workflow management, staff competency, and training requirements.
- Ensure telephone-based teams maximise business opportunities across regions.
- Assist field and internal sales teams with complex broker queries and escalations.
- Plan and deliver onboarding training for new team members, including Field Sales.
- Handle new business enquiry calls when required, ensuring excellent broker experience.
- Maintain a strong understanding of intermediary business needs and Fleet’s product fit.
- Produce MI for CCO and NAMS as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Fleet products, processes, and competitor activity.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policy.
- Collaborate with Operations to identify and deliver improved efficiency and customer outcomes.
