Position Overview

Finning is the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer experiences and innovative solutions. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Internal Sales Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The Internal Sales Manager will lead our Product Support Inside Sales team and drive sustainable growth across parts, service, integrated solutions, and customer support agreements.

Job Description

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will be responsible for developing a high-performing team, maximising sales opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering profitable business growth. Working closely with Product Management, Sales Excellence, and key external partners, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing sales strategy whilst building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Inside Sales Representatives to deliver outstanding sales performance and customer service.
  • Drive profitable growth across parts, service, integrated solutions, and customer support agreements.
  • Develop strategic account plans that strengthen customer relationships and increase loyalty, retention, and revenue.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Management and Sales Excellence teams to develop and execute strategic and tactical sales plans.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, including Caterpillar representatives, to maximise growth opportunities and customer value.
  • Lead employee engagement, performance management, coaching, and development activities within the team.
  • Manage customer issues and escalations, ensuring positive outcomes that enhance customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Deliver against key performance indicators including revenue, gross profit, EBIT, customer satisfaction, pipeline growth, and team development objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience in a sales leadership or sales management role.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines and strategic account development.
  • Strong aftermarket sales experience.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of solution-based and value-led selling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships across internal and external networks.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate plans into measurable business results.
  • Experience working within technical, engineering, industrial, construction, equipment, or related sectors would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products, dealer operations, or a distribution environment is desirable.
  • Relevant sales, management, or leadership qualifications would be beneficial.
