At Heidelberg Materials, we're looking for an ambitious Internal Sales Representative to join our commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving revenue growth, supporting customers, and helping us become the supplier of choice across our markets.
Working closely with Territory Sales Managers and the wider commercial team, you'll be at the heart of our sales operation, developing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and delivering outstanding customer service.
The Opportunity
As an Internal Sales Representative, you will be responsible for managing customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, supporting sales activity across your territory, and helping to achieve ambitious sales and profitability targets.

You'll work with a wide range of customers, using a consultative approach to understand their needs, provide solutions, and build long-term partnerships.
What You'll Be Doing
Sales and Business Development
- Develop and grow relationships with new and existing customers.
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Work closely with Territory Sales Managers to maximise volume, revenue, and product mix opportunities.
- Use tools such as LinkedIn, Barbour ABI, and internal reporting to generate qualified sales leads.
- Contact lapsed, closed, and prospective accounts to win new business.
- Follow up on all quotations in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of opportunities won and lost.
Account Management
- Manage customer accounts from enquiry through to completion.
- Ensure all customer interactions and sales activities are accurately recorded within CRM systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer queries professionally and efficiently.
- Handle account-related issues and complaints, working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
- Support customers throughout the sales journey, ensuring a seamless experience.
Commercial Support
- Work closely with the wider commercial team, customer service teams, and external sales colleagues.
- Support local authority tenders, government contracts, and major project bids.
- Assist with pricing administration, reporting, and commercial analysis.
- Manage reports relating to pricing, market activity, and business performance.
- Support special projects and initiatives as required.

What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from candidates who have:
- Previous sales, account management, customer service, or business development experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and results-driven approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A positive attitude with a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Experience within construction materials, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, building products, distribution, manufacturing, or related industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
