Internal Salesperson

Location: Gelderd Trading Estate, West Vale, Brown Lane West, Leeds LS12 6BD

Salary: £26,727.60 - £28,000 per annum. Dependant on Experience

Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week, permanent contract

TLA Distribution Ltd is a well-established independent distributor of electrical components, supplying market-leading brands. With over 90 employees across five branches throughout the UK, our growing company is supported by a team of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals who deliver outstanding technical support for automation and control products across the industrial electrical sector. We believe our friendly, supportive culture—combined with continuous training and development—makes our team the very best.

TLA is currently looking for an Internal Salesperson to join our Leeds branch. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start and build a long-term career in the electrical industry.

As an Internal Salesperson, you will be the key point of contact for our customers, managing existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities to develop new business. You'll play an important role in helping the branch achieve its sales targets by delivering outstanding customer service and providing effective sales support.

We're looking for a positive, enthusiastic team player with a willingness to learn. No previous industry experience is necessary—we're more interested in finding someone with great communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. However, previous sales or customer service experience would be welcomed and will help you succeed in the role.

In this role, you'll support customers over the phone, via email, and face-to-face in branch, helping to build strong relationships and deliver an excellent customer experience. You'll also have the opportunity to learn all aspects of how the branch operates, gaining valuable experience across sales, customer service, operations, and stock processes. As part of a small, close-knit team, you'll support colleagues across different roles when required, developing a broad understanding of the business while contributing to the continued success of the branch. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you develop your skills and progress your career with TLA.

Core Internal Sales Responsibilities

  • Managing inbound leads and enquiries via phone or email
  • Proactively contacting prospects to qualify needs and opportunities
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing customers
  • Preparing and issuing quotes, proposals, and pricing information
  • Following up on quotes to progress opportunities and close sales
  • Updating and maintaining accurate records on the in-house system
  • Achieving individual and team sales targets and KPIs

You may also support the wider branch team, picking and packing products in our warehouse to ensure customers’ orders are completed on time.

  • A team player who takes the initiative on developing ideas for the business through face to face and phone-based relationships, becoming the subject matter expert for your customers.
  • A flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure whilst identifying business opportunities.

What TLA can offer:

  • Full time role Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm – 40 hours per week
  • Salary: dependent on experience
  • Overtime available but not compulsory
