Primary Responsibility
- Work closely with the stock controllers and assist in the development and implementation of recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations, including reducing operational costs, increasing on-time loading, and increasing customer satisfaction.
- Organise and direct the dispatch and intake of the stock of the business via information, such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
- Help to lead the operation of compile stock control records and information, such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
List areas of daily and long-term responsibilities
- Assist and supervise the process of stock taking for collection and delivery ensuring orders are correct
- Check accuracy of deliveries with incoming goods ensuring administration is equivalent to physical delivery reporting any discrepancies
- Ensure products are coded/labeled correctly and stored at the correct location
- Ensure stock rotation to minimize loss through short dated items
- Quarantine non-conforming products for investigation and further action
- Check vegetable list for correct quantity and quality
- Review not loaded item documentation and investigate for loss, damage or theft
- Liaise with relevant managers to ensure that stock negatives are resolved
- Investigate damaged items and take action accordingly
- Keep system updated with stock movements
- Determine slow selling items and make recommendations accordingly
- Coordinate and prepare for stock taking process
- Conduct cyclic count and resolve discrepancies and queries in a timely manner
- Ensure internal transfer procedures are being adhered to according to business requirements
- Provide feedback to enhance product performance and service delivery
- Seek to improve relations with regard to the provision of efficient communications to facilitate product development and issue management
- To ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

- 4 GCSE’s A-C including English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications
Relevant work experience will be considered
Physical Requirements
- Lifting: The job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using the equipment provided where necessary.
- Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.
- Equipment: Pump trucks, forklifts, reach truck. You will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.
Skills
- Ability to query and analyse data
- Work independently and make decisions based on information provided
- Proficient in commonly used software such as MS Office
- Execute tasks in an accurate and timely manner
- Thorough product knowledge
- Forklift licence is preferable
