International Business Development Director

Shape the Future of International Business with Sedgwick

Job Location: London/South East England - Hybrid
Job Type: Permanent

As Sedgwick expands globally, we’re seeking accomplished leaders to spearhead business development initiatives across the UK, Iberia and LatAm.

Role Overview

The role of the Business Development Director for International markets is to source and acquire new multinational clients and source and win business development opportunities while leading existing multinational corporate and carrier clients relationships. This position is a key pillar in Sedgwick International’s income generation strategy and it serves to:

  • Increase and maximize the acquisition of new clients
  • Increase and diversify our existing revenue with existing strategic multinational clients enabling the business to achieve its top line revenue targets and improve its brand reputation.

You’ll be expected to make a significant contribution to the success and development across all business streams including claims management services such as TPA, Loss Adjusting and Specialties but also in the emerging space of no-claims services such as Brand Protection and others.

An individual who naturally networks within such arenas will be expected to implement a consultative sales approach i.e. to develop and materialize new business opportunities by understanding the strategies and interpreting the needs and requirements of the key players within the (Re)insurance, corporate and broker markets (the customer segments targeted).

Qualifications

You will have/will be:

  • Language: Professional proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Experienced:
    • in a Business Development capacity and/or a relationship management function with a proven international reach
    • working within the insurance market. Ideally across the UK and Europe
    • confident working with carriers, brokers and corporates
  • Great communicator:
    • able to pitch and present to c-suite
    • confident thinking on your feet and be able to capture an audience
    • comfortable writing and communicating RFPs
  • Commercially minded:
    • A strong business acumen
    • Ability to upsell and cross sell
    • Being able to negotiate complex contracts and requirements
