The role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Category Manager to become part of our European Strategic Sourcing Team. Your role will involve developing and implementing a category strategy spanning multiple markets across Europe. As an International Category Manager, you will collaborate closely with both local and global stakeholders and ensure we source high-quality ingredients at the best costs.
This position can be based in Paris, London, Amsterdam, or Berlin.
This role is for the Dairy category, but we also have similar openings for the PHF (Produce, Herbs and Fruits), PTN (Protein), and PCK (Packaging) categories.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a category strategy that aligns with our overall objectives and supply chain requirements.
- Identify, select, and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors across various markets.
- Lead supplier negotiations to ensure the best possible terms and conditions.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities by leveraging volumes and improving processes in different markets.
- Conduct make-or-buy analyses to ensure well-informed strategic sourcing decisions.
- Develop robust cost models using in-depth analysis, and monitor essential commodity prices to ensure we pay fair and accurate prices.
- Forecast future cost pricing utilising data, industry knowledge, Generative AI tools and insights to make well-founded assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive and execute procurement projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between category strategy and business objectives.
- Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify potential risks and opportunities.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or master's degree from a top-tier college or university, preferably in business, engineering, supply chain, finance, or science.
- Minimum of 3 years of strategic procurement or production experience, preferably in the food or food-packaging industry, or alternatively as a management consultant with a focus on operations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive implementation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work successfully in flexible team structures around the world.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with a track record of successfully implementing complex cross-functional projects.
- Capability to excel in flexible global team structures amid a reasonable degree of uncertainty.
- Comfortable managing complex projects, including developing new processes, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Exceptional at devising creative and unconventional solutions to supply issues, as well as designing, communicating, and executing action plans for effective resolution.
- Convincing track record of successful negotiations with external partners.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent English proficiency is required, another European language is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
