Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly resilient Chief People Officer to lead our HR Strategy across our multi-billion-dollar global services organisation. This critical executive role will provide strategic and operational leadership for the HR and Health & Safety (H&S) functions across the company’s extensive international footprint.
Managing a large, multi-layered international HR team, this role will partner directly with the executive leadership team to drive organisational design, workforce efficiency, and culture change in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate possesses a rare blend of sharp commercial acumen, operational pragmatism, and deep expertise in global labour relations within labor-intensive, service-driven industries.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Strategic HR Leadership & Organisational Design
- Align the international HR strategy directly with regional business plans, with an intense focus on driving operational efficiency.
- Lead organisational design reviews and drive business restructures to optimise performance and reduce operational drag.
- Oversee the implementation of global HR standards, including employee engagement, corporate values, and DE&I initiatives across all international regions.
Operational Workforce Optimisation
- Partner closely with Operations leaders to build robust recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention programs tailored for a high-volume workforce.
- Drive workforce management (WFM) initiatives to proactively reduce direct vacancy rates, absenteeism, and non-billable overtime.
- Monitor HR performance metrics globally, stepping in to mitigate risks or address material gaps in regional service delivery.

Global Employee Relations, Governance & Risk
- Provide executive-level leadership for complex industrial relations, maintaining productive, proactive relationships with international trade unions, global union federations, and works councils during periods of significant organisational change.
- Champion health and safety performance, implementing group-wide safety training and mitigation programs.
- Govern executive compensation, benefits, and annual rewards processes for the senior international population.
- Act as a key executive representative on various international governance bodies, trust funds, ethics committees, and pension schemes.
Talent, Succession & Performance
- Lead the International Talent & Succession program, including senior-level talent acquisition and rigorous capability assessments.
- Support performance management, talent development, and succession planning for the International Executive team, Managing Directors, and HR Leaders.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Experience & Background
- 10+ years of senior-level HR executive experience within a large, highly dispersed multinational corporation.
- Industry Context: Proven track record in a labour-intensive, low-margin industry is highly preferred/required.
- Operational Partnering: Exceptional capability in HR business partnering, with a demonstrated ability to imbed true operational support capabilities into HR teams.
- Industrial Relations: Deep, sophisticated experience developing and delivering global employee relations strategies involving major unions and works councils.
- Transformation: Hands-on experience leading large-scale organisational redesigns, as well as shared-services or off-shoring transitions.
- Education: A relevant formal tertiary qualification is required; an MBA or Master’s degree is highly preferred.
