International Compliance Manager
Help shape trusted, practical compliance across an international insurance business.
William Russell is looking for an experienced and pragmatic International Compliance Manager to join our team in Lightwater, Surrey.
As our International Compliance Manager, you will play an influential role in managing regulatory risk, strengthening our compliance framework and translating complex requirements into clear, commercially workable solutions.
Our customers and insurance partners are based around the world, and our operations span regulatory frameworks including the UK, Belgium, Dubai and Indonesia. You will work closely with colleagues, senior leaders, the Board and external advisers to ensure compliance risks are understood, appropriately managed and embedded into everyday decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and continually improve our Compliance Risk Management Framework.
- Monitor regulatory developments across the UK and international markets, turning them into clear analysis and practical actions.
- Advise the business on compliance, Consumer Duty, data protection, contracts and corporate governance.
- Identify, assess and help mitigate regulatory risks, reporting key matters to senior leaders and the Board.
- Review business processes, customer information, marketing materials and legal documentation from a compliance perspective.
- Develop policies, deliver training and build a positive culture of compliance across the organisation.
- Build effective relationships with international insurance partners, external law firms and other advisers.

This is a varied, hands-on role with the opportunity to influence how compliance supports customer protection, sound governance and sustainable business growth.
What You’ll Bring
- Approximately four to five years’ experience in compliance risk management, including proven experience operating at Compliance Manager level.
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulation, AML, GDPR, corporate governance and compliance assurance.
- Experience reviewing contracts and other legal documents with suppliers and insurers.
- Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
- A practical, commercially aware approach and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear guidance.
- International compliance experience would be advantageous.

The role is based in Lightwater with hybrid working and requires a minimum of two days each week in the office. Applicants must already have the right to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.
