Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful international asset-focused investment and advisory business.

With operations spanning Europe, Asia Pacific and North America, the organisation operates within a complex, fast-paced and commercially driven environment, providing a broad range of asset, lending, investment and advisory solutions. Following continued growth and expansion, the business is seeking an experienced Director of International Financial Control to lead its finance function across EMEA and APAC.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an accomplished finance professional looking to combine technical excellence with commercial influence. Reporting into senior global leadership, you will take ownership of financial control, reporting, compliance, treasury, tax and finance operations across multiple international jurisdictions while leading the continued development of a scalable, best-in-class finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting, financial control and reporting activities across EMEA and APAC.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
  • Manage regional consolidations and support global group reporting requirements.
  • Drive improvements across financial controls, governance, risk management and balance sheet integrity.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to support strategic decision-making, transactions and commercial initiatives.
  • Provide financial leadership across budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and business performance analysis.
  • Oversee international tax, statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Lead finance transformation, process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and service providers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Build, mentor and develop a high-performing international finance team across multiple locations.
  • Support organisational growth, acquisitions and strategic business projects.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller, International Controller or Finance Director capacity within a complex international organisation.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise across financial reporting, consolidations, audit, tax, controls and compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction finance operations.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership teams and influencing strategic business decisions.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management and financial control frameworks.
  • Track record of driving process improvements, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience within professional services, financial services, asset-based lending, investment, advisory or related sectors would be advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to private equity-backed, high-growth or transformational environments is highly desirable.
