About the role
BYD is currently seeking a Product Manager to work from our London office currently based at Iver, Buckinghamshire. This exciting opportunity has become available due to the successful growth of the company. The Product Manager will manage existing product portfolios.
Main Tasks and responsibilities
- Manage existing product portfolios.
- Lead the conceptual design of the platform in the early stage.
- Propose and prepare R&D feature prioritization list with R&D for management approval.
- Develop, monitor, evaluate and standardize key metrics and product analytics to improve technical (performance, reliability, scalability) and customer / business performance.
- Gather relevant product and supplier information across departments.
- Monitor supplier reliability, lead-time, alternatives and prices.
- Manage the process of root cause analysis and product improvement to customer and product problems as they arise.
- Work alongside business development, R&D, technical management, project management, and cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience as a product manager, product owner, business analyst, or similar role.
- Knowledge about Automotive industry is highly advantageous.
- Experience with High Tech Start-up / Electric Vehicles / Alternative Energy / Batteries is desirable.
- Strong and effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Business level Chinese language would be beneficial but not essential.
- Proactivity and attention to the details and time-discipline.
- Strong problem-solving skills going from the customer to how the technology works; ability to quickly translate customer opportunity or need into product and technology dependencies.
- Comfortable with ambiguity; self-starter and purpose driven; have a strong sense of curiosity; experience with dashboard and metrics.
- Demonstrated experience in working with an international team.
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
