International Marketing Director – 12 month FTC

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for passionate team players to bring joy to our customers every day. As an International Marketing Director – Global Marketing, you’ll report into Pret’s Chief Marketing Officer as a key member of the Global Marketing team. The International Marketing Director is instrumental in driving the global brand vision for Pret measured via brand awareness and consideration, customer love, and transactional growth in international markets. This person will be the voice of the customer across all equity and franchise markets outside of the UK and US. The Director will lead the strategic vision, oversight, and direction to international franchise partners while leading an internal talented team of Marketeers. This role will also have a dotted line into the International President and will sit on the International Leadership Team. Success will rely on being an effective and credible collaborator who will thrive in our matrix org structure and work together with franchise partners. Key responsibilities
- Work with the Global Marketing team, International Sales team, and franchise partners to create marketing strategies for all international markets, ensuring the international markets achieving sales and transaction targets on a consistent basis.
- Develop and drive comprehensive marketing calendar plans for each international market.
- For equity markets, e.g., Hong Kong and France, manage and collate all marketing communications activities and supervise product development processes.
- For master franchisee markets, e.g., Singapore and South Africa, direct and influence all marketing communications activities and product development processes.
- Build a best-in-class International Marketing team, from recruitment through to management and coaching.
- Develop and optimise our product ranges, working with the Innovation team to deliver new, industry-leading food and drink offerings with core consumer relevance.
- Create impactful ad campaigns that drive brand awareness and consideration and yield tangible results.
- Work with the Analytical team to create clear ways to measure and drive ROI of all marketing activities.

Experience and Skills required
- In-depth marketing experience with consumer-facing brands within Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), Hospitality, Food Retail, or related consumer-led industries.
- Essential experience working within a franchised business environment, with the ability to balance commercial growth, brand standards, and franchise partner relationships. International franchise experience is desirable but not essential.
- Building and implementing annual calendars and media buying plans.
- Developing marketing communications plans and leading multi-channel marketing campaigns from insight generation through to execution, including briefing agencies and developing campaigns based on consumer insights.
- Conducting marketing analytics and performance analysis.
- Understanding how best to measure marketing performance and ROI across a variety of channels.
- Experience dealing with executive stakeholders, representing and articulating key topics and providing subject matter expertise.
- Prior experience working on international teams or with brands across multiple regions and countries.
- Gathering customer insights, developing research plans, and implementing findings.
- Product development, menu innovation, and go-to-market planning.
- Strong understanding of pricing, product laddering, menu architecture, ranging, and commercial decision-making within a QSR, hospitality, or retail environment.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and strong commercial judgement.

The interview journey
Every interview process at Pret begins with the same two stages. First, you’ll have a relaxed conversation with our recruitment team so we can get to know you and your experience. Next, you’ll be invited to a one-hour, in-person interview with the hiring manager at our Head Office in London Victoria.
Depending on the role and function, there may be additional stages. These could include time spent in one of our shops, completing a task, or meeting a senior leader.
Before you apply
This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract based at Pret’s Support Centre in London Victoria, where we work in a hybrid way – typically three days a week in the office. This role is expected to involve approximately 20–25% international travel, including regular visits to key markets, regional teams, and franchise partners to build relationships, drive alignment, and support the successful delivery of growth initiatives.
