• Monitor, analyze, and interpret international policy & regulatory environments (especially including but not necessarily limited to the UK, EU, and Asia-Pacific regions), identifying opportunities relevant to fusion energy and providing timely, actionable foresight to internal leadership.
• Contribute to formal policy processes, including responses to consultations and proposed national policy and planning frameworks affecting fusion infrastructure and its consenting.
• Provide cross-team project management and coordination for international partnerships and joint ventures, ensuring meetings proceed on schedule and on agenda, with clearly assigned and tracked action items.
• Support the progression of international partnerships toward operational milestones, including facility development and joint-venture continuity.
• Engage a broad range of external stakeholders — including national governments, regulatory and delivery agencies, member-state actors, and industry associations — to help foster a supportive environment for fusion energy and associated business and funding opportunities.
• Participate in and help steer relevant industry bodies and committees, and monitor international coordinating and regulatory bodies pertinent to fusion.
• Represent TAE at conferences, forums, and summits, and organize high-impact executive engagements and side meetings to maximize connectivity with government and institutional counterparts.
• Coordinate with the communications team on sponsorship, event presence, and public positioning consistent with the company's profile.

About You

• Substantial professional experience in international policy, government affairs, or external relations — ideally within energy, infrastructure, science and technology, or a comparably complex, regulated sector.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate the UK and, ideally, EU policy environments, including familiarity with legislative and regulatory processes, national policy frameworks, and public consultation mechanisms.
• Proven success engaging senior government, agency, and institutional stakeholders across political lines, and building durable relationships in politically dynamic settings.
• Experience supporting or managing cross-functional projects, partnerships, or joint ventures, including meeting coordination, action tracking, and stakeholder management.
• Track record of representing an organization credibly at high-level forums, conferences, and summits, and of convening senior counterparts to advance strategic objectives.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory developments and translate them into clear strategic guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of briefings, position papers, and executive-facing materials for multidisciplinary audiences.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and across teams to meet objectives and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required, and to work across multiple time zones.
• An interest in clean energy, fusion, or emerging deep-technology sectors is highly preferred.

Education Required:

• Master’s degree in public policy, political science, law, international relations, economics, or a closely related field and at least 7 years of working experience in a similar field.
