Purpose of the Role

This role sits at the intersection of law, technology, professional/ financial services and business strategy, supporting Yoti's international growth by helping the business anticipate regulatory change, identify commercial opportunities and engage confidently with customers, policymakers and strategic partners.

Working across international markets, with a particular focus on the United States, Europe and Latin America, the successful candidate will analyse legal, regulatory and market developments, contribute to policy engagement and consultation responses, and translate complex legal and technical issues into practical commercial insight.

The role spans the rapidly evolving digital trust ecosystem, including digital identity, reusable digital credentials, digital wallets, authentication, trust frameworks, interoperability, trust and safety, payments, Open Finance, Smart Data, AI governance, biometrics and online safety.

Working closely with Product, Commercial, Compliance and Marketing teams, the successful candidate will help ensure Yoti is well positioned to respond to market developments, support customers navigating regulatory change, influence policy discussions and strengthen Yoti's position as a trusted leader in digital identity.

Role Dimensions

Reporting to the Chief Policy & Regulatory Officer, the International Regulatory & Policy Associate will work across Yoti's international markets and support colleagues across Product, Commercial, Compliance, Marketing and Executive Leadership. The role combines legal and regulatory analysis, public policy, stakeholder engagement and commercial support, working with colleagues and external partners across multiple jurisdictions.

International travel may be required.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse legal, regulatory and policy developments across key international markets, particularly the United States, Latin America and Europe.
  • Identify emerging regulatory trends, commercial opportunities and strategic risks affecting Yoti, its customers and partners.
  • Research and draft consultation responses, policy papers, position statements, customer briefings and thought leadership across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support Yoti's engagement with governments, regulators, elected representatives, trade associations, standards bodies, civil society and industry coalitions.
  • Represent Yoti at conferences, industry events, customer meetings, working groups and policy forums, delivering presentations where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including law firms, professional services, financial services, technology trade bodies and digital identity ecosystems.
  • Work closely with Product, Commercial and Compliance teams to translate regulatory developments into practical guidance that supports product development, customer engagement and market expansion.
  • Support awareness of domestic and international trust frameworks, certification schemes, accreditation programmes and emerging interoperability initiatives relevant to Yoti's products and services.
  • Develop an understanding of emerging digital trust ecosystems, including reusable digital credentials, digital wallets, payment ecosystems, Open Finance, Smart Data and orchestration services, assessing their implications for Yoti and its customers.
  • Collaborate with the Global Regulatory Intelligence Researcher to identify emerging policy trends and develop practical regulatory guidance to support client engagement.
  • Support customer and partner engagement through the preparation of market analysis, regulatory briefings, presentations and commercial materials.
  • Assist in planning and delivering stakeholder roundtables, workshops, policy events and customer engagement activities.
  • Contribute to Yoti's external profile through articles, webinars, conference presentations and participation in industry discussions.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

We're looking for someone who is intellectually curious, commercially minded and excited by the intersection of law, technology and professional services. The successful candidate will enjoy understanding new technologies, analysing legal and regulatory developments, and translating complex issues into practical advice that supports business growth and customer success.

Essential

  • Law degree
  • 5-8 years' post-graduation experience in legal, regulatory, public policy, strategic advisory or government affairs roles within an international law firm, professional services, financial institution, technology company, consultancy, regulator or trade association.
  • Strong understanding of legal analysis and the ability to interpret legislation, regulatory guidance, consultation documents and technical standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal, technical and commercial issues clearly to different audiences.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with excellent judgement and attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in how regulation enables innovation, customer adoption and international market growth.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders across legal & data protection, commercial, technical and policy functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different jurisdictions and time zones.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to travel and attend out of hours events

Desirable

  • Master's degree in Technology Policy, Public Policy, International Relations, Digital Regulation or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of digital identity, identity verification, reusable digital credentials, authentication, trust services or digital wallets.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Familiarity with regulations for online platforms, financial services, payments.
  • Awareness of international digital identity trust frameworks, certification schemes, interoperability standards and digital identity ecosystems.
  • Experience working with government consultations, industry associations, standards organisations or policy forums.
  • Understanding of or strong interest in AI governance, biometrics, cybersecurity, privacy and online safety regulation.
  • Experience using AI-enabled research, knowledge management or workflow tools
