ABOUT SCHUMACHER
F. Schumacher & Co. is a fifth-generation family business and the parent company of a portfolio of design brands including Schumacher, Patterson Flynn, Backdrop, Frederic Media and Brooklyn Printing Company.
Schumacher, our flagship brand, has been at the forefront of interior design since 1889. While we celebrate our heritage, we operate with an entrepreneurial spirit — always looking for new ways to grow, innovate, and bring exceptional design to clients around the world.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an organized, analytical, and entrepreneurial International Strategy & Operations Lead to work closely with our Director of International Business Development on the strategic and operational initiatives driving Schumacher’s international growth.
This is a high-visibility role with broad exposure to how an international growth function operates. You’ll move between high-level strategic thinking and hands-on execution — from evaluating new markets and developing go-to-market strategies to building programs that help our international sales teams succeed.
Schumacher’s international business is in an exciting stage of growth, making this a unique opportunity for someone who wants to take real ownership, help shape the direction of the business, and evolve their role alongside it.
YOU WILL
Sales Collateral Program Management
- Own and operationalize our international sales collateral program end-to-end, from strategy through rollout.
- Determine the right collateral offering, balancing commercial attractiveness with operational feasibility.
- Develop a compelling loyalty scheme to encourage participation and adoption.
- Be accountable for the overall success and ongoing evolution of the program.
New Market Expansion
- Build and own our market expansion roadmap alongside the Director, grounded in market research, commercial analysis, and product-market fit.
- Help develop go-to-market strategies for new markets and work closely with sales teams to execute them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
