A rare opportunity has emerged for an accomplished Tax Director

A rare opportunity has emerged for an accomplished Tax Director to play a pivotal role within a multi-jurisdictional group following a significant, multi-layered acquisition spanning broad global territories. This highly visible leadership position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, involvement in strategic decision-making, and the opportunity to shape transformational tax initiatives within a global business environment.

We are seeking a commercially astute tax leader who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional project management capabilities and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This opportunity will appeal to an experienced Head of Tax, Tax Director, Senior Tax Director, or International Tax Leader seeking a high-impact role at the heart of a major business transformation.

The Role

The focus will be on post-acquisition structuring and financing, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, and navigating a number of complex international tax considerations.

The role requires someone with strong global tax experience, with particularly deep US tax expertise being essential, alongside the ability to operate strategically across multiple jurisdictions and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead tax representative for integration, transformation, and strategic business initiatives, ensuring effective tax engagement across all relevant workstreams.
  • Coordinate internal tax resources and external advisors, managing relationships, deliverables, governance, and associated budgets.
  • Lead the tax aspects of integration project, including transition into business-as-usual operations and ownership.
  • Drive tax optimisation, simplification, and value creation initiatives across US and international operations, including leveraging tax attributes, incentives, and transfer pricing opportunities.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to provide tax input on commercial decisions, business cases, operating model changes, supply chain transformation, and other strategic projects.
  • Provide leadership on complex US and international tax matters, including cross-border structuring, international tax planning, and Pillar Two considerations.
  • Oversee US tax compliance activities and support the implementation of governance, process improvement, and advisor transition initiatives.
  • Support tax accounting, acquisition-related reporting, effective tax rate forecasting, and cash tax planning requirements arising from integration and transformation activities.
  • Identify, assess, document, and mitigate tax risks, ensuring robust governance frameworks and controls are maintained across the organisation.
  • Support the Tax Leadership Team on strategic tax, risk, and business transformation matters, providing insight and guidance to senior leadership.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
