Job Description
In this role, you will lead the company’s international tax controversy, foreign tax audit, VAT/GST, and global tax compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with local finance teams, business leaders, external advisors, and tax authorities to ensure compliance, manage tax risks, and support global tax reporting processes.
This is a global position with approximately 25% travel, primarily within Europe, involving complex cross-border tax matters and direct interaction with tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a global center of excellence for VAT, GST, and other local non-US indirect taxes, ensuring scalable processes and invoicing models, strong internal controls, and audit readiness
- Lead and manage foreign tax audits, tax authority inquiries, tax assessments, and controversy matters across international jurisdictions.
- Develop and strengthen global VAT/GST processes, controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Develop and execute audit defense strategies supported by robust technical documentation.
- Monitor transactional data workflows to ensure accurate calculation, collection, reporting, and e-invoicing compliance across various digital and physical jurisdictions.
- Proactively mitigate risks associated with permanent establishments and digital economy tax regulations (e.g., Pillar Two, DST).
- Partner with global tax team to perform ongoing risk assessment and leverage prior audit outcomes to incorporate into future tax positions
- Support OECD Pillar Two compliance initiatives and related reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor transfer pricing compliance, documentation, and local filing obligations.
- Support the company's global tax provision and reporting processes under ASC 740.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and technology-enabled tax solutions across jurisdictions.
- Act as a key tax partner for Finance, Legal, IT, and Commercial organizations worldwide.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors and foreign tax authorities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Advanced degree (MST, JD/LLM) helpful but not required.
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant focus on global tax controversy, VAT, and planning/transfer pricing
- Experience in a multinational public company environment preferred
- Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. international tax concepts (e.g., GILTI, FTC, BEAT, Subpart F) and their financial reporting implications.
- Experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource) and ERP/consolidation systems
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Communicate complex tax matters clearly to business partners
