Our diverse, collaborative team advises on high-profile transactions, combining technical expertise, innovation and a genuine focus on continuous development. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep international tax and transaction experience while building strong relationships with clients and EY teams in multiple jurisdictions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of international tax and transaction advisory projects for Japanese and Asia-Pacific headquartered multinational groups.
  • Assist with transaction tax work on inbound and outbound acquisitions and disposals, including preparing technical analysis, coordinating information requests and working closely with Tax Due Diligence, Strategy & Transactions and Legal teams.
  • Contribute to post-merger integration and post-deal implementation projects, including legal entity simplification, integration planning and post-acquisition restructuring activities.
  • Support group and regional restructuring projects across multiple jurisdictions, helping with project management, technical analysis and implementation activities.
  • Assist clients with BEPS 2.0 and Pillar Two projects, including impact assessments, data gathering, analysis and coordination with EY Japan and overseas teams.
  • Undertake international tax research, prepare client deliverables and assist with managing tax risk, governance and controversy matters.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK, EMEIA and Japan to deliver high-quality client service and develop practical solutions to complex cross-border tax issues.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships while contributing to business development initiatives and knowledge sharing across the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Qualifications

This version feels much more aligned to an EY L2 Senior Associate: supporting delivery, developing technical expertise, managing discrete workstreams, and building client exposure without the expectation of leading the most complex restructuring and controversy projects.
