International Tax Manager
£65,000–£80,000 plus bonus
OTE £90,000 - £100,000
Fully Remote
Our client is a fast-growing tax and strategic advisory firm supporting entrepreneurs, privately owned businesses and international groups across the UK and overseas.
The firm advises clients whose operations, investments and ownership structures increasingly span multiple jurisdictions. As the business continues to grow, it is looking to appoint an International Tax Manager who can lead complex cross-border advisory work and help shape the future development of its international tax offering.
This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical and commercial approach.
You will work directly with business owners, finance leaders and senior decision-makers, helping them understand the tax implications of operating, investing and expanding internationally.
The Opportunity
The role will involve advising:
- UK businesses expanding overseas
- International companies establishing a UK presence
- Privately owned groups with cross-border interests
- Entrepreneurs with increasingly complex international affairs
Assignments may arise from international expansion, overseas investment, group restructuring, acquisitions, disposals, financing arrangements or changes to the way a business operates across different countries.
You will lead projects from initial scoping through to delivery, coordinating with overseas advisers where required and ensuring clients receive clear, joined-up advice.
Rather than operating within a narrowly defined international tax team, you will have broad exposure across corporate, transaction and owner-managed business matters.
What You’ll Be Advising On
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising UK businesses expanding into overseas markets
- Supporting international groups establishing or growing their operations in the UK
- Advising on cross-border corporate structures and international reorganisations
- Reviewing the tax implications of overseas subsidiaries, branches and permanent establishments
- Advising on double tax treaties and the availability of treaty relief
- Supporting clients with withholding tax considerations
- Advising on the UK tax treatment of cross-border payments, financing and investment
- Providing guidance on controlled foreign company rules and other anti-avoidance provisions
- Advising on corporate residence and permanent establishment risk
- Supporting international acquisitions, disposals and wider transactions
- Working with overseas tax advisers to coordinate advice across multiple jurisdictions
- Identifying tax risks and planning opportunities within international business structures
- Explaining complex international tax matters clearly to business owners and senior stakeholders
- Reviewing technical work and maintaining consistently high standards
- Supporting the development of junior colleagues
- Helping senior leadership develop and grow the firm’s international tax proposition

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A Commercial Approach to International Tax
The clients are not looking for theoretical advice delivered in isolation. They need someone who can understand their commercial objectives, identify the issues that genuinely matter and provide practical recommendations that can be implemented.
You may be advising a founder-led company preparing to enter a new territory, an overseas business establishing a UK operation or an established group reviewing whether its current structure remains appropriate.
The work will regularly overlap with corporate tax, M&A, restructuring and private client matters, providing exposure to a broad range of complex advisory projects.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is an opportunity to undertake high-quality international tax work without becoming restricted to one narrow technical area.
You will have genuine ownership of assignments, direct access to senior decision-makers and the ability to influence how the international tax function develops as the firm continues to scale.

The business has achieved significant year-on-year growth and continues to invest in its people, technology and infrastructure.
It offers the technical challenge and client complexity commonly associated with larger firms, combined with the autonomy, pace and visibility of a founder-led advisory business.
For the right person, the package may also include substantial performance-related bonus incentives and the potential for longer-term equity participation.
Your Background
You will already have a strong grounding in international corporate tax and experience advising businesses on cross-border matters.
Ideally, you will have:
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification
- Strong experience within international or corporate tax advisory
- Experience advising UK businesses with overseas operations or international groups operating in the UK
- Knowledge of double tax treaties, withholding taxes and permanent establishment matters
- Experience advising on cross-border structures, reorganisations or transactions
- An understanding of corporate residence, controlled foreign companies and international anti-avoidance rules
- The ability to identify both technical risk and commercial opportunity
- Confidence managing complex advisory projects and senior client relationships
- The ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-tax specialists
- Strong project-management and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior colleagues
Broader exposure to transaction tax, transfer pricing or owner-managed businesses would be advantageous.
Applications are welcomed from established International Tax Managers, as well as ambitious Assistant Managers or experienced Corporate Tax Advisors with strong international exposure who are ready to take the next step.
