The International Tax Manager located in Bracknell, UK, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
The role is responsible for leading direct and indirect tax matters for 3M’s operations in Switzerland and designated emerging markets, acting as a trusted tax business partner to local, regional, and global stakeholders.
This position serves as the principal tax contact for the global export market business, supporting tax planning, compliance, transfer pricing, audits, incentives, reporting, and strategic business initiatives. Working closely with global tax teams, external advisors, and cross-functional partners, the role ensures tax risks are effectively managed, compliance obligations are met, and business decisions are supported with clear, practical tax guidance.
The role will also support tax aspects of business transformation, supply chain projects, US GAAP reporting, and legislative change management across Switzerland, emerging markets, and the wider EAGM region.
Here, you will make an impact by:
- Lead direct and indirect tax matters for 3M’s operations in Switzerland and designated emerging markets.
- Act as the primary tax business partner for internal and external stakeholders, including the global export market business.
- Coordinate with global tax teams, external advisors, and cross-functional partners to support tax planning, compliance, and strategic projects.
- Oversee outsourced direct tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, disclosures, and reporting.
- Partner with Indirect Tax and Transfer Pricing teams to ensure tax considerations are embedded in business decisions and projects.
- Manage tax authority interactions, including audits, controversy matters, and related strategy development.
- Identify and support tax incentive opportunities, working with external advisors where appropriate.
- Support US GAAP tax reporting, including cash tax forecasting, quarterly provisions, return-to-provision analysis, and uncertain tax positions.
- Lead or support tax workstreams for business transformation, supply chain, and regional projects across EAGM.
- Monitor legislative developments and communicate relevant impacts to stakeholders across Switzerland, emerging markets, and the wider region.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires the following qualifications:
- Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related discipline, with relevant professional tax or accounting qualifications.
- 7+ years’ international corporate tax experience, ideally gained in a Big 4 firm and/or multinational environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate income tax, transfer pricing, tax treaties, and statutory-to-tax reporting interactions.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into clear, practical guidance.
- Collaborative, commercially minded, and comfortable working across global, matrixed teams.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- German language skills would be advantageous.
- Experience working within a U.S.-headquartered multinational, ideally with a broad manufacturing footprint.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
- Proactive and improvement-focused, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to lead effective change.
Job specifics
- Location Information: Position to be based at the UK HQ in Bracknell, Berkshire
- Travel expectations: May include up to 10% domestic/international
- Working pattern: Full time
- This role has an on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office.
