We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join a small, highly regarded tax team within a specialist international bank. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to provide commercially focused tax advice across a range of complex transactions, products and business initiatives.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join a small, highly regarded tax team within a specialist international bank. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to provide commercially focused tax advice across a range of complex transactions, products and business initiatives.
This is a predominantly advisory position, partnering closely with front office, legal, finance, compliance and operations teams to support business growth while ensuring tax risks are appropriately managed.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial judgement and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Advisory
- Act as a trusted tax adviser to front office and support functions across the business.
- Provide tax input into new products, transactions, business initiatives and strategic projects.
- Assess and manage tax risks associated with business activities and structures.
- Support the review and negotiation of legal documentation where tax considerations are relevant.
- Deliver practical, commercially focused advice that enables business objectives while maintaining appropriate governance.

Business Partnering
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across trading, origination, finance, legal, compliance, operations and senior management.
- Provide training and guidance on key tax developments and their impact on the business.
- Coordinate with external advisers where specialist input is required.
Strategic Projects
- Support organisational change initiatives, restructuring projects, acquisitions and other strategic business developments.
- Assess the impact of new tax legislation and regulatory developments on the business.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of tax policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
Transfer Pricing & International Tax
- Support the design, implementation and documentation of transfer pricing policies.
- Provide transfer pricing advice relating to transactions and business activities.
- Assist with tax authority enquiries and interactions where required.
About You
You will be an experienced tax professional with a strong advisory background and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, commercial environment.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience in a tax advisory role within banking and/or commodities markets.
- Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and providing commercially focused tax advice.
- ACA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong knowledge of international tax principles and tax risk management.
- Experience evaluating the tax implications of new products, transactions or business initiatives.

Desirable Experience
- Exposure to transfer pricing matters.
- Experience supporting regulatory or international tax transparency requirements.
- Knowledge of emerging markets or cross-border financial services businesses.
