About the Company
This privately held multinational conglomerate has an exceptional history going back over 100 years. In the last decade it has transformed into a rapidly expanding international business with operations covering 20+ countries. Its international portfolio includes some challenging jurisdictions which sit outside of the OECD.
About the Role
As part of a small in-house tax team, you will report directly to the Global Head of Tax. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a new in-house experience or perhaps a first step from practice. The role will be varied and include both domestic and international tax with excellent exposure to transfer pricing, M&A, tax structuring and project work.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Tax with tax planning and ad hoc international projects, including M&A, corporate restructuring, integration and moving into new territories.
- With support from advisers, conduct research on tax landscape in new territories, identifying commercial risks and optimising outcomes for the business (e.g. cash repatriation).
- Business partnering day to day in support to the overseas commercial teams and finance.
- Maintenance of all transfer pricing documentation including mater file & local files and intercompany agreements. Assist with review of benchmarking activities & local files and to liaise with external tax advisors on new transfer pricing requirements and tax implications.
- Monitor overseas compliance activities and support overseas Financial Controllers where necessary ensuring all statutory deadlines are met in a timely manner.
- Advise the overseas finance teams on internal tax accounting reporting packs.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of tax policy and governance procedures working closely with various stakeholders within the business.
- Support adhoc with international indirect taxes and employment taxes.
- Keep informed of tax regulation changes and their impact to the group position.
- "Horizon scan" to identify, monitor and manage international tax risks, interpreting international tax legislation and regulatory law developments across all taxes and communicating outputs to key stakeholders in plain language.

About You

- ACA, CTA qualified or equivalent
- Minimum of eight years tax experience
- UK corporate tax trained in a Big 4 or top 10 firm
- Proven international tax background
- Strong project management skills
- A persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions.
