Role Description
The Internet of Things Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IoT solutions that support Milvian AI’s Aqueduct platform and related offerings. This role involves integrating sensors and IoT devices with existing building systems, configuring device communication (including M2M protocols), and ensuring reliable data collection and transmission. The specialist will collaborate with software development and product teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, troubleshoot issues in production environments, and optimize system performance.

Day-to-day tasks include:
- Analyzing IoT data flows
- Validating device performance
- Documenting architectures and configurations
- Contributing to continuous improvements in security, scalability, and maintainability

The role also includes regular communication with cross-functional stakeholders and occasional interaction with customers to support deployments and resolve technical challenges.
Qualifications
- Strong Internet of Things (IoT) and M2M skills, with experience working with sensors, edge devices, and connected building systems.
- Solid analytical skills to interpret real-time data, diagnose system issues, and optimize IoT architectures.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide clear documentation.
- Software development skills, ideally with experience in languages and frameworks commonly used for IoT solutions (e.g., Python, C/C++, Node.js, REST APIs).
- Relevant qualifications include experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for IoT, familiarity with MQTT/CoAP or similar protocols, and knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for connected devices.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.
- Background in smart building technologies, facility management systems, or industrial automation is a plus, along with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
