American Express is recruiting for the role of Campus – Internship Programme – Undergraduate Product Manager – 2027 (UK – Burgess Hill). The internship supports product managers and delivery teams with product requirements, customer discovery, Agile ceremonies, metrics, and cross-functional coordination. It also involves learning how modern product teams shape, launch, measure, and improve technology initiatives.

What you’ll do
- Support product managers and delivery teams with defining, refining, and prioritising requirements, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and support documentation.
- Assist with customer discovery, stakeholder interviews, user research activities, usability testing, and analysis of feedback.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, analytics, risk, security, operations, and business teams to support product delivery and technology initiatives.
- Support Agile Release Train, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies with guidance from peers and leaders.
- Monitor risks, dependencies, capacity considerations, and impediments to delivery, escalating issues where support or decisions are needed.
- Create, consolidate, and analyse portfolio, release train, product, and team-level metrics to provide delivery insights.
- Support product and engineering teams in building implementation roadmaps, managing cross-functional dependencies, and preparing leadership updates on delivery status.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, redesign process flows, and strengthen documentation practices.

- Demonstrated interest in technology, product management, digital products, customer experience, Agile delivery, or technology programme delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify patterns, and distil complex topics into clear recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and build relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Familiarity with customer journeys, user-centred design, feature prioritisation, product strategy, roadmap planning, requirements definition, user stories, and launch readiness.
- Understanding of AI concepts, including prompt design, model capabilities and limitations, responsible AI practices, human-in-the-loop review, and AI output evaluation.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro, Figma, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
