Junior Project Engineer (Electrical Utilities)

Are you a Graduate or Junior Electrical Engineer? Are you looking to start building a career in Electrical Engineering, whilst working alongside electrical-industry experienced professionals?

Walker & Watts are looking to expand our professional services team, you will be working on the full lifecycle of projects which include schemes from LV, 11kV up to and including 132kV.

At Walker & Watts we believe that Graduates are key in shaping the future of both the company and the ever-developing world of electrical systems, and we actively encourage young people to join our team to launch their career developing and designing innovative solutions which will have a big impact on the electrical industry, and as such, you'll receive structured support from experienced engineers while gaining exposure to real LV–132kV projects from day one.

Who are Walker & Watts?

Walker & Watts Limited are a specialist electrical utilities contractor providing design and construction services from LV to 132kV throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Some of the key duties include:

  • Assist with engineering design, project documentation, and cost preparation.
  • Support the delivery of project-based works, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.
  • Carry out site visits, audits, and inspections under supervision.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project planning, reporting, forecasting, and resource management.

What do you need?

  • HNC degree or a minimum of 2 years of Industry experience
  • Computer literate – proficiency with Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Be able/willing to work within an energetic close team environment
  • Full UK Driving License
