Intruder Alarm Engineer
Gloucestershire & Worcestershire | Field-based
up to £36,000 DOE + company vehicle | Permanent, Full-time
Different sites. Different challenges. One day you could be installing an alarm in a private home. The next, diagnosing a fault at a commercial premises or servicing a system in a school or healthcare setting.
If you enjoy variety, solving problems and working with people, this is an opportunity to put all three into practice.
Pertemps is recruiting an Intruder Alarm Engineer for a well-established, growing security business. We’re looking for someone who combines technical ability with a professional, approachable manner—an engineer who leaves customers feeling confident in both their security system and the service they’ve received.
You can be based anywhere in Gloucestershire or Worcestershire, with your main area of coverage spanning both counties.
A varied role with customers at its heart
You’ll work across residential, commercial, industrial, education and healthcare sites, including high-value homes with sophisticated security requirements.
Every customer and property is different. You’ll need to listen, assess the problem and explain the solution clearly, whether you’re speaking to a homeowner, business owner or facilities manager.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
