Department: Finance (Reporting to the Group Financial Controller)

About the Role

We are seeking a sharp, driven Inventory Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at our Leyland headquarters. In this role, you will be the master of our stock universe, working shoulder-to-shoulder with Supply Chain, ICQA, and Finance Leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and robust inventory controls. If you have a knack for keeping stock management precise and love turning complex data into actionable insights, this is an excellent opportunity to make a measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the accurate recording, valuation, and reconciliation of all inventory balances.
  • Partnering with the ICQA team to ensure inventory processes are robust and audit-ready.
  • Maintaining iron-clad controls over stock movements, adjustments, and reserves, including Net Realizable Value (NRV) and obsolescence provisions.
  • Supporting product costing activities and financial modeling to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Collaborating with Commercial Finance to align inventory projections with the broader financial roadmap.

What We Are Looking For

  • Professional Qualification: Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Industry Experience: Strong, hands-on background in retail or commercial inventory management.
  • Analytical Expertise: Proven capability in inventory planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance teams.
  • Operational Drive: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced corporate environment.

This role is based in our Leyland HQ for 5 Days per week – 37.5 Hours per week
