Inventory Accountant Opportunity in Salisbury

An Inventory Accountant is being recruited by an established international manufacturing business in Salisbury. You will play a vital part in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and visibility of the inventory across the business.

The position will be focusing on the inventory management and valuation, stock reconciliations, WIP and liaising with operational teams to improve the information generated.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of inventory accounting and records: Ensure records are accurate.
  • Valuation of raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Inventory reconciliations and investigation of stock discrepancies and dealing with corrections.
  • Monitor WIP movements, job closures, scrap, rework and inventory adjustments.
  • Lead stock take and liaising with external auditors.
  • Liaise with Operations and Supply chain to drive inventory accuracy.
  • Analyse inventory trends, movements, slow moving and obsolete stock and provide insight and recommendations.
  • Support month end and year end close.
  • Produce inventory reporting and analysis and assist with inventory forecasting and planning.
  • Support internal and external audits relating to inventory.

Suitable Candidates:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, inventory, stock or cost accounting.
  • Good understanding of inventory accounting, stock valuations, BOMs etc.
  • Advanced Excel and ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Business Central a particular advantage) and experience of Power BI or similar tools would be beneficial.
  • Part or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or Qualified by Experience.
