Job summary – What to expect:

This Training/Operator role supports operations across Delta Park and Mountpark, combining hands-on operational responsibilities with training and coaching duties. As a subject matter expert, you will carry out a range of moderate to highly complex tasks independently, provide guidance and problem-solving support to colleagues, deliver training within your area of expertise, and work closely with the Training Coordinator to ensure high training standards and compliance. You will also provide Team Leader cover when required, helping to maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while supporting the development of a skilled and capable workforce.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • The Operator works in all areas of the plant with full autonomy.
  • Manages the most complex tasks and masters the vast majority of processes in accordance with company procedures & work instructions. Can be assigned in all areas.
  • They will support the Team Leader and Senior Operator when the Team Leader is on holiday or a leave of absence (LOA), they will understand the various key departmental business priorities.
  • They troubleshoot process issues using ERP/WMS/WCS and Tableau.
  • As a site key user, the Operator plays an active role in training, documents training records in conjunction with the local Training Coordinator, and guides more junior staff in process execution. Perform training for operators within their area of expertise using competency-based training packs and ensure all training updates are communicated to relevant operators in a timely manner.
  • The Operator acts as a reference point for health and safety regulations within the team, promoting safe working practices regarding the use of equipment (i.e. machinery, lift truck, manual handling equipment etc) and general good housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Is proficient in the use of company systems and acts as a point of reference for resolving system issues and answering questions.
  • Actively promotes continuous improvement initiatives and projects and plays an active role in promoting continuous improvement. Is involved in the most complex improvement activities.
  • The operator investigates and responds to the most complex issues with a high level of competence and autonomy so as to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels.
  • Act as a back-up for the Team Leader when required.

Experience & Education:

  • The Operator manages the most complex tasks and has mastered the majority of processes across all areas.
  • Can act as a key user.
  • Understands the fundamentals of Continuous Improvement
  • Has a basic knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Role models CVI values and behaviours for other Operators.
  • Good standard of English and Mathematics.

Work Environment:

  • The post holder's working environment is a large open-plan warehouse/factory facility.
  • All necessary personal protective equipment must be worn along with the use of the correct manual handling equipment and operating techniques.
  • While some lifting is required, the majority of products are transported throughout the facility using movable cages, which can also be heavy.
  • Lifting up to approx. 15 kg.
  • There may be some working at heights required.
  • There is constant background noise from the operation of various machinery.
  • Temperatures in the warehouse fluctuate due to seasonal variations.
  • Periods of prolonged standing.
