Job Details

Job Title: Inventory Clerk

Location: Newcastle

Work Pattern: Full Time, Flexible Working Pattern (including occasional evening and weekend working as required)

Summary of Role

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our Newcastle team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting stock control activities, conducting investigations into stock discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards. You will play a key role in helping to maintain stock accuracy and supporting operational efficiency across the Service Centre.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily perpetual inventory (PI) counts and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and resolve inventory anomalies in a timely manner.
  • Complete daily inventory and quarantine stock reports in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out date checks and monitor short-dated stock to support effective stock management.
  • Review slot parameters and available storage locations to optimise inventory accuracy.
  • Perform regular stock availability checks to support customer service levels.
  • Investigate customer missing claims and support resolution processes.
  • Maintain accurate physical and electronic records while meeting reporting deadlines.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse operations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workloads and manage priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues.

Desirable

  • Understanding of inventory management systems and stock control processes.
  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.
  • Experience conducting stock investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with audit trails and compliance procedures.
  • Experience working within a pharmaceutical, healthcare, or distribution environment.
  • Understanding of supplier and replenishment processes.
  • Experience maintaining electronic filing and record management systems.
  • Knowledge of warehouse security procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
