MATERIAL INVENTORY CONTROLLER
£24.47 per hour Umbrella | Initial 6-month contract
Brize Norton, Oxfordshire | Full-time, fully on-site
BPSS clearance required
Driving licence essential | SAP and material handling experience required
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client operates within the aerospace and defence sector, delivering essential support services to the Royal Air Force to maintain the airworthiness and operational readiness of its aircraft fleet, both in the UK and overseas. Working as part of a specialist aviation support team, they are looking for a Material Inventory Controller to support warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring materials are accurately managed and available to meet critical maintenance and flying programme requirements.
THE MATERIAL INVENTORY CONTROLLER ROLE
As a Material Inventory Controller, you will join the logistics and warehouse team at Brize Norton, supporting the effective handling, movement and management of materials required to maintain aircraft availability and meet operational commitments. Working closely with the material demand team and warehouse management, you will ensure stock movements, warehouse transactions and associated documentation are completed accurately and in accordance with company procedures and aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities include:
- Processing material orders and movements in line with operational priorities.
- Ensuring materials are unloaded, handled, picked, packed and stored in accordance with logistics and airworthiness requirements.
- Completing accurate warehouse management system transactions and confirming physical stock movements within SAP.
- Ensuring relevant paperwork and documentation are correctly sorted, linked to parts and maintained throughout the packing process.
- Supporting inbound and outbound warehouse activities, including receiving, dispatch and general material handling.
- Carrying out stock checks and ensuring inventory records remain accurate.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Reporting process errors and system issues to management or team leaders promptly.
- Adhering to company quality procedures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working collaboratively across warehouse functions to ensure materials are available to support maintenance and flying programme requirements.

MATERIAL INVENTORY CONTROLLER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Full UK driving licence – essential.
- Previous experience in a material support, inventory control, warehouse or supply chain role.
- Proficiency in warehouse management and information systems, particularly SAP, alongside Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations.
- Understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Strong organisational skills, with a methodical and accurate approach to stock control and documentation.
- Ability to multitask, work effectively within a team and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Good written and verbal English.
- A current counterbalance or reach truck forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
