Role: Inventory Controller

Location: Rayleigh

Salary: £38,000 – £41,000 (DOE)

Sector: Building Supplies – Inventory / Stock Controller

Monday to Friday

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inventory Controller / Stock Controller to join an established and successful business based in Rayleigh.

The successful Inventory Controller / Stock Controller will play an important role in managing and maintaining efficient inventory levels across a regional operation, ensuring stock availability meets customer demand while supporting purchasing, forecasting and overall supply chain performance.

About The Role

Working closely with the Branch Managers and suppliers, the Inventory Controller / Stock Controller will be responsible for monitoring stock performance, analysing data and ensuring inventory processes are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities of the Inventory Controller / Stock Controller

  • Managing regional stock levels and ensuring appropriate availability to meet customer requirements.
  • Using ERP and inventory management systems to monitor and improve stock performance.
  • Reviewing and maintaining stock profiles in line with changing demand and supplier capabilities.
  • Working collaboratively with branches, suppliers and other internal departments.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and overall inventory efficiency.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and be confident working with data, systems and spreadsheets. Previous experience within inventory control, stock management, purchasing or supply chain would be highly beneficial.

Strong Excel skills are essential, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends and use information to support effective stock management decisions.

The Successful Inventory Controller / Stock Controller Will Demonstrate

  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and confidence working with business systems.
  • Experience within inventory control, stock management, purchasing or supply chain.
  • Good understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.
  • Experience working towards stock or service-level KPIs.
  • Kerridge K8 experience would be advantageous.
