Role Overview

We are looking for an Inventory Controller to support the operation at our Wellingborough site (NN8 6BS).

In this role, you will help maintain stock accuracy across the contract, ensuring inventory records are accurate, key performance measures are achieved, and operational activities run smoothly. You will also provide support during periods of annual leave, absence and fluctuating volumes.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £28,281.82 plus £832 late shift allowance. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 22:00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out perpetual cycle counting activities in line with agreed processes and standards.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, escalating any concerns in a timely manner.
  • Set up and maintain stock records and product information within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Create new storage locations and pick faces as required, while supporting stock, picking and dispatch queries.
  • Follow all operational and site processes and procedures, including Health & Safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers, using effective communication to resolve operational and customer queries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance ways of working and maintain organised, efficient work areas through 5S principles.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using WMS systems. Knowledge of AS/400 Opus and SAP would be beneficial.
  • Ability to identify issues and work collaboratively to find solutions.
  • Previous inventory or stock control experience.
  • Willingness to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as part of the role.
  • Experience working in a busy operational environment.
  • A positive approach to achieving objectives and supporting team success.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop professionally.
