Senior Inventory Manager
We're looking for a Senior Inventory Manager for a central government department based in Bristol on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £750 per day (Inside IR35). This is a part-time role working 3 days per week onsite.
About the Role
The successful Senior Inventory Manager will own the spares model and inventory strategy for a major defence programme, setting optimal stock levels and managing asset replacement across a large and varied inventory. You'll range and scale spares, plan disposal of surplus and obsolete items, and review supplier estimates and equipment plans to keep costs and risks under control. You'll also define KPIs, run risk assessments and support assurance reviews across the contract.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the spares model and inventory strategy

Required Experience
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- Inventory management at a senior level
- Asset replacement management
- Spares modelling, ranging and scaling
- Quartermaster or equivalent military logistics experience
- Working independently and grasping complex operations quickly
You'll also need practical exposure to supply chain and contract assurance activity, including areas such as:
- Obsolescence planning and disposal management
- Reviewing supplier performance and Basis of Estimate costs
- Forecasting future inventory needs against operational demand
- Developing inventory performance metrics and KPIs

Beneficial Experience
- Experience with weapons or ordnance inventory systems
- Simulating complex logistics scenarios
Additional Requirements
This role is open to sole UK nationals only. You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
